Job Description
Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to work for a company that is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. Company designs and manufactures aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs. Company's industrial products serve industries ranging from hydrocarbon, chemical and food processing to construction and mining.
Successful applicant will be responsible for product activities, ranging development through delivery; will also be working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Management on new and existing production activities.
Common duties will include:
1. Prepare detailed assembly work instructions for a variety of mechanical and electrical assemblies and systems.
2. Develop and maintain procedures and standard work for processes and equipment.
3. Identify, procure and proof all types of assembly tooling and process equipment to provide the best value approach to the manufacture of products.
4. Support product development teams from a manufacturing perspective in the design of new products and for development of cost / producibility design improvements on existing products and systems. Design for manufacturability is a key skill.
5. Participate in ACE (process improvement)teams and support/incorporate recommendations from other ACE teams.
6. Assist manufacturing personnel with assembly, inspection and test related problems on the production floor.
7. Develop manufacturing plans and assist in production line layouts and production work flows for the assembly, inspection and testing of a wide variety of military and space related products.
8. Identify and research procurement needs.
9. Develop and imrpove TPM strategies for new and existing equipment.
Requirements:
BS degree in Industrial or Manufacturing engineering or equivalent engineering degree and/or experience. Technical writing skills are a must. 5-7 years of experience preferred.
Software knowledge including Microsoft Office. Mini tab, Pro-Engineer, and JDE experience is a plus.
Experience with and knowledge of NASA and Military Standards required.
This is a Manufacturing Engineering position. Duties of this position include supporting government or commercial product line(s) with accurate work instructions, manufacturing assistance, tooling/fixtures, etc. Must ensure that proper processes are being followed and regulations met. Technical writing and problem solving are at the core of this position.
Candidates should have experienced and knowledgeable with SPC and Lean Manufacturing. Candidate must possess a positive attitude, be able to work independently while also supporting the team, and be willing to learn.
